Some people say that God made the earth using Evolution. "We don't know how long a day was."
Well, I have been reading a book called 'Dismantling the Big Bang' by Alex Williams and John Hartnett. It has really good explanations on why a day in Genesis is the same as a day now. Please comment and tell me what you believe. =)
"Genesis 1 clearly states that God created the universe in six ordinary-length days. While the word 'day' has a variety of possible meanings, the meaning intended by an author is always specified by the context. The context of Genesis 1 is 'evening and morning, one day'. The author clearly intended the word to mean an ordinary-length day. The Ten Commandments, which God wrote down with His own finger in stone, confirm this conclusion. The Fourth Commandment says that the Israelites were to observe the Sabbath as a memorial to the fact that God created the universe in six days."
" God's stated reason for creating the universe in six days was to give man a convenient time scale to commemorate and celebrate His person and work of creation. If this time scale is expanded billions of years, it makes nonsense of the Fourth Commandment."
Let me know what you think!

We also believe that the earth was made in 6 twenty-four hour days. That sounds like a good book, are you reading it for fun, or is it for school?

I don't have any yet. But will soon. We have a neighbor that is bringing over his mare and a saddle in exchange for us to feed it for awhile. I am so excited!!
I agree with you, sis! =D
Hmm, that is interesting to think about.
That was a wonderful post- the book sounds reallyinteresting too. I love reading about creation science and all that stuff. It's always neat to be able to see some of the proof for things that we already know are true; proof that we can use to defend, as well as witness, to the truth of God's Word.
